Which reading service do I need?

Free Editorial Appraisal

Feel you might be ready to proceed with creating your book?  Let us cast an eye over a significant sample of your manuscript, and a scan of its structure, and we'll tell you exactly what grammatical and technical proof work is required to get it looking professional and polished, along with a quotation for our suggestions, based on the appraisal and your enquiry.

There is no charge and no expectation or obligation to proceed with our recommendations.  And rest assured we will never recommend unnecessary work; if none is needed, you can trust us to say so.

Beta-Reader's Appraisal

We love to read, and will happily give you our feedback on your manuscript, whatever stage it is at, as considered from the point of view of a reader; we will pick up on any character or plot observations, inconsistencies, grammar, incredibility in a concise report. 

Please note this is not as in-depth as our Professional Manuscript Critique; a beta-reader's appraisal usually runs at about 5 or 6 pages, touching on necessary points and addressing specific author concerns - feel free to throw your questions at us when instructing.

The cost of our Beta-Reader's Appraisal is £85.  You can choose and pay for this option in the Get Started enquiry form.

Professional Manuscript Critique

Much more in-depth than the other two options, this comprehensive report will list grammatical issues throughout, and creative concerns, such as plot issues, inconsistencies, areas of missing detail, suggestions to improve pacing, chapter structure, presentation, character establishment and much more - it is a long report usually running at around 10-15 pages, and recommended for those who really aren't sure if their project is coming together or not.

This is a constructive service, and we hope to make useful structural recommendations for your book wherever they are required.
