When you create your memoir with us, you can publish it using our imprint. You still remain the book's self-publisher, but you get to feature our branding on your book cover, listings and promo materials.
Your book will look great but, more importantly, use of our imprint is our seal of approval; readers will know that your book has been professionally edited and created by us, with our full endorsement - we wouldn't associate our brand with just anything, after all!
Furthermore, if your book is listed as a Kathar Books-branded title, we will actively help you promote it at our own events, here on our listings page and in the REGULAR CATALOGUE we will shortly be launching, which we hope to send out to reviewers and other literary representatives. Keep us informed and we'll happily promote your events, too. There is no additional charge to use our imprint branding, no obligation to join in the first place or even to stay with us; and if you do, you can remove your book from our imprint portfolio at any time.
It is our intention to grow this imprint, and with Kathar Books branding your published memoir can grow with us.
Please note that Kathar Books are NOT book publishers, and we therefore will not be responsible for selling, listing or registering your book. You will be the book's publisher, and may include our logo on your book and marketing materials, and the accreditation "Published by [the Author], under the imprint of Kathar Books."
The Kathar Books imprint is available for self-publishing authors only, and not for those pursuing representation.

I'm Done Being A Mug: How I Reclaimed My Life
Teddy Gruber, Dec. 2025
FROM BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS AND PRESSURES IN LONDON, TO TRANSFORMATION AND CLARITY IN ASIA … ONE TEACHER’S ACCOUNT OF STARTING OVER WHEN EVERYTHING FELL APART.
By 2018, Teddy Gruber, in his forties, felt misunderstood—by colleagues, family, and even those closest to him. Two failed marriages, rising debts, and a draining teaching career left him one choice: leave the judgment, chaos, and pressure behind. Armed with his CV, he set his sights overseas.
What followed was a remarkable reinvention across Thailand and later China. Teddy learned to set boundaries, rediscovered his strengths, and found people who respected and understood him. Through bold experiences, unexpected challenges, and moments of sharp self-awareness, he began building a life that felt stable and energised.
Told with vivid episodes, wry humour, and both heartfelt and nerve-shredding encounters—including the infamous “Clash of the Wives”—this memoir traces Teddy’s journey from UK turmoil to transformative life in the Far East. A story of resilience, renewal, and courage to live life on one’s own terms.
