Proofreading/Line-Editing

The final stage of the editing process, before your book is created, is our line-by-line proofreading service, which ensures your grammar and punctuation are published in their best condition. 

Where entirely necessary, we may delete or rewrite occasional lines of text, but this will be done very minimally, and only in order to be grammatically or creatively coherent.  We will also add or omit scene and paragraph breaks where they are incorrectly used.

Your manuscript will be returned with tracked changes for your review, which you can accept or reject.  All of our proofreading instructions include TWO human-editor passes and final software checks in the price, as well as FREE TYPESETTING in the dimensions of your choice.

The cost of our proofreading service is currently £6.95 per <1000 words.

Copy-Editing

A far more extensive and developmental editing service, for manuscripts which are at the penultimate stage of editing, prior to proofreading. 

Whilst we do not generally rewrite content unless specifically necessary for grammatical accuracy, we will include extensive editor notes in the margin, for the author's attention, relating to syntax, diction, dramatic emphasis, narrative pacing and consistency.  We will also make necessary changes to the book's format, to facilitate the editing and proofreading process, including correct formatting of tables and other elements.

This service also includes amendment of grammatical errors, though should be considered a precursor to, not a replacement of, the proofreading service.

The cost of our copy-editing service is currently £9.95 per <1000 words.

Translation

If your memoir is written in a language other than English, we will happily translate it into English so that we can edit it for you.  Please note that we will use A.I. translation software to do this, and it will be necessary for you to confirm your acceptance of the translated document before we can proceed with editing work. 

Please note that there may be a small charge for the A.I. translation.  Please also note that we are unable to translate the post-edited manuscript back into its original language.

Images, tables and other elements

We will happily work on books containing images, illustrations, tables, footnotes/endnotes, index and other appendices, which will, likely necessitate the copy-editing service. 

However, please note that there may be a small surcharge for images, if the book contains them in number.
